Aspen Diagnostic Imaging is a new clinic in Athabasca, Alberta providing state-of-the-art medical imaging to many surrounding communities. Our modern, new facility is conveniently located one and a half hours north of Edmonton serving many northern communities.

Aspen Diagnostic Imaging has a variety of professional, technical and clerical staff and we strive to deliver the highest of quality care to all our patients. Our technologists are highly qualified and certified in their specific field(s).

What is a Radiologist?

Radiologists are medical doctors (MDs) or doctors of osteopathic medicine (DOs) who specialize in diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries using medical imaging techniques, such as x-rays, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear medicine, positron emission tomography (PET) and ultrasound.

After each imaging exam, the radiologist reads and interprets the medical images and provides recommendations for additional care or treatments as needed.  Results read by the radiologist are sent to the referring physicians within 24 hours.  Radiologists play an important role in our healthcare system.
